About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator provides front-line, day-to-day support covering a broad range of HR administration, including recruiting, orientation, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, and benefits. This role partners with regional and corporate-based leaders to implement company-wide HR programs and initiatives, champions culture initiatives, and drives employee engagement to unify and improve company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Guide onboarding activities and assist with new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals and objectives.
  • Support the administration of company programs, performance management, benefits enrollment, and training.
  • Facilitate Workday processes with payroll, benefits, and leave departments.
  • Coordinate offboarding and maintain HRIS record changes in Workday.
  • Manage local Form I-9 compliance.
  • Handle recruiting, job postings, and facilitate interviews with managers.
  • Administer annual open enrollment benefit meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal regulations related to human resources, including federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop positive employee relations and advise management on resolving HR issues.
  • Interpret, assist, and advise on inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate special projects as needed.
  • Attend business meetings and training courses.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related, employee benefit, and payroll queries.
  • Identify and implement improvements in HR effectiveness and processes.
  • Ensure training requirements are met for safety, HR, or other certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of applicable job experience.
  • 1 year of HR system administration experience with Workday.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technology skills and ability to leverage technology in work processes.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Experience working with all levels of staff.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills for effective problem-solving.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in an administrative/clerical capacity.

Preferred: Experience with Workday or other HRIS.
