Responsibilities

  • Aid in the recruitment, selection, and placement of candidates for various positions.
  • Process employment forms and documentation, maintain employment records, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Manage the organization's Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and provide technical support to hiring managers and employees.
  • Support hiring managers with job postings in the ATS, external advertising, and union contract requirements.
  • Train and support hiring managers and staff on submitting job requisitions and navigating the online hiring process within the ATS.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and hiring workflow through the ATS.
  • Implement focused and targeted recruitment initiatives, including sourcing strategies and employee referral programs.
  • Represent Human Resources by maintaining partnerships with external organizations.
  • Assist newly hired employees with completion of required employment documentation and onboarding activities.
  • Act as liaison between incoming international employees and the organization's immigration attorney.
  • Generate appointment letters and Terms and Conditions of Employment offers.
  • Maintain compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations and provide guidance regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Explain employment policies, procedures, applicable employment laws, and collective bargaining agreements to departments, employees, and applicants.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage a temporary administrative employee pool.
  • Evaluate applications, conduct interviews, administer assessments as needed, and recommend qualified candidates to departments.
  • Support the Manager of Employee and Labor Relations with recruitment activities for collective bargaining unit vacancies.
  • Coordinate the reclassification process for collective bargaining unit positions.
  • Process monthly seniority increases for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements.
  • Communicate with applicants and employees to ensure timely exchange of information and resolve questions related to employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and other human resources matters.
  • Coordinate the annual employee service awards program and other employee recognition initiatives.
  • Assist with administration of the organization's performance management platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • One to two years of human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ATS systems.
  • Knowledge of EEO regulations and ADA guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
