Human Resources Coordinator
About the Role
Home Instead is looking for an organized, people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, supporting, and retaining the Care Professionals who provide exceptional care to seniors throughout our community. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and can balance employee support with the administrative and compliance responsibilities of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and communicate with prospective Care Professionals throughout the hiring process
- Review applications, conduct initial candidate screening, and coordinate interviews
- Process pre-employment requirements, including motor vehicle reports, background checks, references, and other required screenings
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation
- Collect and maintain required employment documentation, including I-9s, tax forms, driver's licenses, auto insurance, certifications, and other personnel records
- Maintain accurate employee information within HR, payroll, scheduling, and recruiting systems
- Monitor employee documentation and certification expirations and follow up as needed
- Assist with employee relations, attendance, performance, and policy-related matters
- Communicate company policies, procedures, expectations, and HR updates to employees
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Assist with training coordination and compliance requirements
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policies, scheduling processes, and other employment-related matters
- Maintain confidential employee information and personnel records
- Assist management with disciplinary documentation, performance conversations, and employee separation processes
- Help ensure company practices remain consistent with applicable employment laws and company policies
- Work closely with leadership, scheduling, recruiting, and other departments to ensure appropriate staffing and employee support
- Perform additional HR and administrative responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Previous Human Resources, recruiting, office management, or administrative experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable having professional and sometimes difficult conversations with employees
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new HR and scheduling systems
- Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, payroll, or scheduling software is a plus
- Knowledge of employment practices and HR compliance is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is a plus
