About the role
The Human Resource Coordinator is a key support role within the HR function, providing the administrative and operational backbone across the full employee life-cycle. You will partner closely with all the HR team members to deliver consistent, compliant, and people-first HR practices across our growing network of coffee locations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate new hire onboarding logistics, including offer letters, I-9 verification, background checks, and Day 1 readiness.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, while ensuring data integrity.
- Support offboarding processes, including separation documentation and exit interviews.
- HR Administration: Serve as first point of contact for team members inquiring, routing issues appropriately. Keep accurate records and files in accordance with state and federal requirements. Assist with workers compensation claims.
- Compliance & Policy Support: Maintain our handbook and policies. Assist in tracking mandatory training completions. Ensure wage and hour requirements including meal/rest break tracking and posting requirements.
- Order and distribute required notices and postings.
- Recruiting Support: Post open roles across job boards.
- Reporting & Projects: Provide weekly and monthly reports as needed while supporting special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of Human Resources, administrative or related experience.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- High comfort with technology and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with state and federal employment law basics (or strong eagerness to learn).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a multi-unit retail, food & beverage, or hospitality environment.
- Exposure to HRIS platforms (Rippling, UKG, ADP).
- Absolutely no preferred experience listed.
Pay
This position is non-exempt with an hourly pay range of $28.00-$35.00.
Schedule
This position is 100% in-office, located in the UTC area of San Diego, CA. There is no relocation available for anyone out of the area.
