About the Role

Stratus HR, a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), is looking for a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented Human Resources Consultant. We provide small and medium-sized businesses with top-level outsourced Human Resources services, including HR consulting, payroll, tax and benefits administration, government compliance, risk management, and HR technology. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement human resource policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee employee relations and investigations.
  • Promote and design recruiting and retention strategies.
  • Direct the employee life cycle, including pre-employment, onboarding, and offboarding tasks.
  • Develop performance review processes, metrics, and program designs.
  • Assist in organizational, managerial, and employee training, engagement surveys, and development efforts.
  • Participate in 401k plan discussions, benefits open enrollment, and renewal meetings.
  • Conduct and advise on compliance reviews and industry best practices.
  • Update and maintain client handbook policies with client contacts.
  • Assist with HRIS, timekeeping, and other systems training and development.
  • Perform compensation analysis and research additional compensation tools.
  • Review client workforces for FLSA and labor law compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
  • Effectively communicate with internal departments during client onboarding processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/work experience.
  • 3–5+ years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and management skills.
  • Outgoing personality with a willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to company shared values.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM, and HRIS systems.
  • Confidence in conducting crucial conversations with client business owners and employees.
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency, and visual graphics design skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
