Human Resources Business Partner - Minnesota, Hybrid

Develop and implement HR processes, practices, and programs for the organization and client groups to maximize achievement of short- and long-term business goals. This role ensures proactive planning and effective execution of talent acquisition, performance management, talent management and development, total rewards & recognition, training, organization effectiveness, data and record management, and related programs. Supports senior HR Business Partners with large-scale department and organization HR, organizational design, and change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership
    • Partner with leaders to integrate the human resource function with business activities.
    • Assist leaders in promoting proactive changes to address a rapidly changing external environment.
    • Research, analyze, and respond to leader and employee questions regarding HR policies and processes.
    • Assist leaders with job description creation/updates and compensation analysis.
    • Develop and implement HR projects/programs to proactively meet the needs of targeted client groups.
    • Conduct exit interviews, assess reasons for separation, investigate concerns, identify themes, and address issues.
    • Support HR data/reporting needs, including analysis of HR processes and programs, and report findings for improvement.
  • Organizational Effectiveness
    • Assist leaders in ensuring effective communication, problem analysis, and resolution.
    • Partner with HR management to ensure organization structure, design, staffing, and utilization of human resources align with business needs.
    • Provide periodic reports and data on a timely basis.
    • Provide counsel in designing and implementing new organization structures and processes to increase effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
    • Support or lead change management initiatives.
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure timely approval of position requisitions.
    • Act as a point of contact for Talent Acquisition regarding compensation, equity analysis, workflow, and hiring decisions.
    • Support leaders in workforce planning, including identifying future talent needs, headcount budgeting, and contingent worker engagement.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to complete immigration processes and address work visa/work sponsorship issues.
  • Employee Relations
    • Anticipate, identify, and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
    • Partner with legal resources as appropriate.
    • Act as an internal consultant to address issues such as employee morale, interpersonal problems, and work conditions.
    • Counsel people leaders consistent with NMDP policies, legal considerations, and company priorities.
  • Training and Development
    • Implement employee and leadership development strategy.
    • Coach and mentor leaders regarding talent and leadership competencies.
    • Consult with senior HR Business Partners on people leaders’ staff training and development needs.
    • Develop strategies to improve leadership training and development in conjunction with Talent Management.
    • Deliver training and development opportunities.
  • Reward Management
    • Implement and communicate NMDP compensation and benefits programs to attract, motivate, and retain employees.
    • Partner with the Total Rewards function to develop innovative recognition systems for client organizations.
  • Other Accountabilities
    • Complete data entry and document management for headcount/position management process.
    • Participate in and/or lead key projects and initiatives for HR Practice Areas, such as Talent Management and HR Solutions.
    • Serve as a representative on NMDP or divisional committees or task forces.
    • Participate in the development of the Human Resource department’s strategic, tactical, and financial plans.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of employment law.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Three years of experience working in a Human Resources Business Partner role.
  • On evaluation, an advanced degree in Human Resources or a related field may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business.
  • HR Generalist experience.
  • HR Business Partner experience supporting Information Technology (IT) and Product leaders and teams.

About the Team

This is a hybrid role that requires work on-site at our headquarters in Minneapolis approximately once a month.
