About the role
KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security.
Responsibilities
- Manage routine HR processes and transactions with accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail using tools including Workday.
- Support employee lifecycle activities including policy administration, onboarding, compensation and classification reviews, and other operational HR responsibilities.
- Ensure HR programs and processes are implemented consistently and effectively.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.
- Lead day-to-day coaching and support to managers on performance management, employee development, classification and compensation, communication, and team effectiveness.
- Encourage employee growth and career development by connecting individuals with appropriate development opportunities and resources.
- Support change management and organizational initiatives through effective communication and leadership support.
- Partner with managers and employees to understand business needs, workforce challenges, and opportunities for organizational improvement.
- Provide practical HR guidance and recommendations that support both employee success and business objectives.
- Develop consultative skills by working with leaders to address people-related challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Build credibility and trusted relationships with leaders and employees across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen team effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.
- 5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience with exposure to multiple HR disciplines.
- Experience supporting managers and employees in a generalist, HRBP, or employee relations-focused role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in IT skills encompassing fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations, weigh available options, and identify the best course of action.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide HR guidance in a business environment.
- Experience handling employee relations matters and participating in workplace investigations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able and willing to work a hybrid schedule in an office environment at least three days per week.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a large engineering or professional services business.
- DoD (Department of Defense) experience.
- Experience working with large-scale HR Information Systems such as Workday.
- Experience with / knowledge of Davis Bacon or Service Contract Act populations.
- Compensation and classification working knowledge, including FLSA and other state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Possess emerging digital fluency with a strong interest in using AI-powered tools, automation platforms, and HR technologies to improve workflows, increase productivity, and support organizational objectives.
- SHRM-CP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certification in Human Resources Management.

Benefits
- Basic Compensation: $93,000.00 - 140,000.00 (Colorado area), $102,000.00 - 154,000.00 (California area).
- Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
- Benefits: Includes 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
Pay
$93,000.00 - 140,000.00 (this range is for the Colorado area only).
$102,000.00 - 154,000.00 (this range is for the California area only).
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Schedule
Standard Working Hours: 40 hours/week.
