About the Role

This position provides a wide variety of technical support in a generalist capacity to administer the NAF Human Resources Program. Working for Army Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) offers a sense of pride and fulfillment by supporting communities of military and civilian personnel and their families, contributing to the Department of Defense's overall mission.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of technical support tasks in a generalist capacity to administer the NAF Human Resources Program.
  • Receives and processes routine and complex personnel actions.
  • Coordinates with management officials to recruit for position vacancies.
  • Answers general human resources questions and inquiries.
  • Uses systems to track requests for personnel actions and update the status of actions.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must complete CHRA NAF Career Path I within 18 months of position placement.
  • Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess one of the following:

  • NF-02 (Developmental):
    • Six months of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience demonstrating the ability to accomplish various human resources tasks and utilize human resource information systems.
  • NF-03:
    • Six months of work experience in a human resources profession demonstrating the capability to perform recruitment support, employee relations support, or personnel action processing functions.
    • Prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Ability to work with a variety of human resources information systems.

The experience and abilities listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

Highly preferred qualifications include prior work experience in a NAF Human Resources Office.

Area of Consideration

This job is open to candidates who reside within the local commuting area (50 miles) of Fort Riley, Kansas. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
