Duties
- Administer pre-oath briefings to inform applicants regarding processing center procedures.
- Operate a variety of office automation equipment to prepare enlistment and other personnel documents.
- Perform records management of electronic and paper applicant records.
- Obtain applicants’ fingerprints to initiate a background investigation.
- Perform quality review of applicant records, packets, and forms to ensure compliance with all requirements.
Requirements
- Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Skills: Requires the skills of a qualified typist and ability to utilize web-based software systems.
- Work schedule: Employee may be required to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours).
- Overtime: Employee will routinely be required to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- Training: Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
Qualifications
- Who May Apply: US Citizens
- Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing office automation software to update account information; obtaining data from applicants for completion of personnel records; maintaining applicant records in accordance with an established filing system; and utilizing appropriate formatting to create written correspondence and/or documents.
- Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
