This position is a federal role within the Department of the Navy. New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Current federal employees must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade requirement). Retired military members may be subject to specific appointment provisions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain required forms, records, and files.
  • Make additions, revisions, or deletions to records or files to keep them current.
  • Enter and review data in automated systems, including the Defense Travel System.
  • Maintain accountability for advancement exams.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include:

  • Utilizing automated systems to enter personnel information.
  • Establishing personnel forms, records, and files in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Retrieving personnel data to answer questions, respond to correspondence, or for preparing reports or briefings.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or a combination of education and experience:

  • Four years of education above high school.

A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
