About the role
This position is in the Office of Human Resources, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the routine administration and maintenance of the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) Program.
- Enters EPMS information into SCEIS.
- Tracks and monitors EPMS completion via departmental logs.
- Assists with HR training and Development programs, including producing content, scheduling, coordination, and some facilitation.
- Cross trains in all functional areas of the Human Resources Department.
- Updates Employee Engagement logs and files as needed.
- Plans, develops and administers all aspects of the SCDMV Awards and Recognition Program.
- Assists with planning and organizing the Employee Appreciation Program.
- Updates Award Policy and Manual as needed.
- Manages the Agency's Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Schedules employees for alcohol and drug testing in accordance with Agency's Alcohol and Drug-free workplace policy.
- Updates alcohol and drug testing spreadsheets and logs as necessary.
- Assists and prepares corrective action documents and reprimand removals in compliance with agency policies, procedures and regulations.
- Stays current on federal and state laws and regulations affecting the human resources field.
- Assists with ordering supplies and managing shopping carts for HR.
- Assists with HR Department Inventory.
- Assists with New Employment Orientation (NEO), preparing folders and documents for distribution.
- Provides assistance with special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and administrative experience.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management.
- Experience in training, developing training content, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to analyze data and present ideas effectively.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- General Supervision. Discretion is allowed in making decisions in areas that are routine and well defined. Situations involving special circumstances must be referred to the Employee Engagement Manager or the Human Resource Director.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. and work in a busy office environment where processing volume and meeting deadlines are required.
- Some travel may be required.
- Long periods of sitting at a computer terminal are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma and four (4) years of clerical or administrative experience.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
- One to three years of employee relations or human resources experience preferred.
