About This Position
The HR Analyst (Payroll) helps process payroll, edit reports, verify salary calculations, and serve as the back-up to the Payroll supervisor. They also maintain and update associated records in accordance with City policies, ordinances, pay plans, and federal and state guidelines. Additionally, they cross-train on other HR processes and perform specialized clerical work.
Responsibilities
- Assist and backup the Payroll Supervisor regarding all aspects of processing payroll
- Ensure payroll records comply with regulations and overtime calculations are correctly reported
- Monitor leave balances, verify leave accruals, and prepare listings of expiring leave balances
- Edit, balance, and remit vendor reports, including communicating with vendors
- Assist in the preparation of W2 statements
- Assist in administration of pension refunds and contributions
- Provide technical instruction for payroll functions and assist
- Assist in payroll tax activities
- Maintain related records to payroll, pension, and leave balances
- Respond to verification of employment requests, DOT verifications, unemployment notices, etc.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- General knowledge of payroll, accounting, or finance, equal to an Associate’s degree
- 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12 to 18 months of management experience
- People and/or project management
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Skills
- Experience using UKG software (preferred)
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
