Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process payroll and review employee changes, earnings, deductions, and other payroll information.
  • Review payroll for accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and coordinate corrections.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and qualifying life events with the benefits broker.
  • Cook up employee leave requests, including FMLA, with the PEO.
  • Respond to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and retirement plans.
  • Cook up open enrollment and other annual benefits activities.
  • Maintain payroll and benefits records and support related audits and reporting.
  • Maintain employee data and process personnel changes in HR systems.
  • Cook up onboarding and offboarding activities, including employee documentation, system updates, orientation scheduling, and exit surveys.
  • Maintain organized and accurate employee files and records.
  • Complete routine HR system updates, testing, troubleshooting, and data audits.
  • Manage the People Operations and Recruit inboxes and respond to or route requests.
  • Process employment verifications and other routine HR requests.
  • Maintain HR forms, templates, trackers, and standard documentation.
  • Maintain HR calendars and track recurring deadlines, activities, and deliverables.
  • Cook up meetings, interviews, and other HR scheduling needs.
  • Maintain organized shared resources using established naming and filing conventions.
  • Track HR requests and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Support recurring reports, audits, compliance activities, and department projects.
  • Cook up routine requests with HR vendors and service providers.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Human Resources administrative experience, including hands-on payroll and benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of payroll practices, employee benefits, 401(k) plans, and leave administration.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, recurring deadlines, calendars, and administrative processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with employee data, payroll information, and records.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organized files and records using consistent naming conventions and document management practices.
  • Ability to track requests and assignments through completion with follow-through.
  • Ability to identify and resolve routine issues and escalate matters appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach to employee support.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
