About the role
Seneca Foods is in search of an experienced HR Manager for our processing facility located in Leicester, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and administration of Seneca HR policies and procedures, compliance at Federal and State levels, and employee relations among other things. They will manage programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset and contributing to all team initiatives set by senior management.
Responsibilities
- Management, interpretation and administration of HR policies, procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Recruit, interview and select qualified applicants for open full-time and seasonal positions and conduct new employee orientations.
- Understand and Administer the Seneca Employee Benefits program at the location level.
- Administer FMLA/STD/Leave, Safety and Worker's Compensation programs.
- Conduct required HR/Legal Compliance training for all employees.
- Ensure that employee files and documentation are maintained.
Qualifications
- College Degree and/or 4+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 2 + years’ experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent communications skills – verbal, listening, written and computer.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Union Relations experience a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Pay
Salary range: $80,000 to $95,000 annually. Bonus eligibility.
