About the role
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing leave of absences, accommodations, workers compensation, compliance, employee relations, investigations, coaching and counseling sessions, terminations, and union grievances. Additional responsibilities include assisting with recruitment and other special projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage leave of absences, accommodations, and workers compensation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/local state laws
- Conduct employee relations, investigations, and terminations
- Coach and counsel employees
- Assist with recruitment and special projects
- Handle miscellaneous HR tasks
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in employee relations
- Ability to advise management and meet deadlines
- Ability to ensure compliance with FLSA and other applicable laws
- Computer literacy
- Calm, polite, and professional behavior
- Strong planning, organizing, and decision-making abilities
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
Qualifications
- Excellent active listening and communication skills
- Good personal presentation and tact
- Ability to function in a high-pressure environment
