Main Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy administration.
- Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), open enrollment, ACA reporting, and vendor relationships.
- Partner with executive leadership on compensation planning, salary reviews, budgeting, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws, with strong knowledge of California, New York, Texas, New Jersey, and Arizona labor laws.
- Oversee payroll administration, HRIS (Paychex preferred), HR reporting, and personnel records.
- Manage workers' compensation, FMLA, disability, unemployment claims, and leave administration.
- Maintain employee handbooks, job descriptions, performance review programs, and HR policies.
- Cook up employee training, harassment prevention, and professional development initiatives.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for managers on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws, (we have employees in California, New York, Texas, New Jersey, and Arizona).
- Experience with payroll, benefits administration, workers' compensation, leave management, and HRIS systems (Paychex preferred).
- Working knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations.
- PURSUANT TO CERTIFICATION: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Salary Range
$115,000-135,000/yr. depending on experience level.
