Human Resource Manager

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to lead HR objectives for our KIK – Ontario and Santa Fe Springs plants. Reporting to the HR Director, this role partners closely with local Plant Managers to align HR initiatives with operations goals. Based out of Ontario, California, with periodic travel to Santa Fe Springs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HR function for Ontario and Santa Fe Springs, California, manufacturing plant locations
• Provide guidance, best practices, and drives efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of human resources, including recruiting, compensation, talent management, analytics, and administrative programs
• Carry out multi-plant employee relations and other employee programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with California, federal, and local regulations
• Partner with plant management to drive continual improvement of site people capabilities, including labor planning, performance management processes, competitive salary processes, analysis, recognition, and rewards programs
• Develop training programs directly with the manufacturing plants to ensure sustained and effective programs exist
• Manage salary administration, disciplinary processes, and investigations
• Consult on issues related to legal and procedural compliance, employee relations, strategies, and performance management
• Utilize HR analytics to identify trends and develop action plans to improve retention, engagement, and performance across sites
• Absorb plant communications to promote employee understanding of business objectives, programs, and policies
• Act as the conscience of the organization and keep a solid pulse on the organizational issues

Requirements

• Four-year degree (or higher) and Professional Certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years as a Human Resources Manager or Senior Generalist background experience in a manufacturing environment
• Recruiting experience in salaried and non-exempt roles
• Labor union experience required
• Strategic and Critical Thinking
• Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting multiple plants
• Strong Relationship Builder
• Career progression shows broad HR Business Partner knowledge and application in fundamental HR functions
• Deep knowledge of California labor and employment laws, including wage and hour, leave of absence, and workplace safety regulations

Qualifications

• Naturally builds strong relationships across all levels of the organization, with key stakeholders, and external partnerships
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
• Proven problem-resolution and decision-making skills with a sense of urgency
• Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a goal & results orientation
• Proven discretion and sensitivity to confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to interpret data for insights and actions

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. This position has a base salary range of $140,000 – 150,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including your relevant skills and experience.
