Role Description
As an HR Generalist at VIP, you will be a critical player in ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes that keep our team members supported and thriving. From managing HR systems to building strong relationships with team members across multiple locations, this role is hands-on and deeply involved in the daily operations of our growing network of veterinary hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HRIS systems (ADP, Paylocity), ensuring accurate updates, HR transactions (new hires, terminations, pay changes), and generate reports to drive decision-making
- Serve as the go-to for employee inquiries, guiding on policies and handling investigations with care and precision
- Support performance management, leadership programs, and ongoing performance improvement plans
- Ensure smooth, timely onboarding to welcome new team members

- Payroll & Benefits: Coordinate benefits administration and collaborate with finance to ensure accurate payroll
- Multi-Location Support: Travel to hospitals monthly to provide in-person support, build relationships, and ensure consistent HR service delivery
- Compliance & Improvement: Ensure policies are up to date with employment laws and continuously improve processes to meet the needs of a growing company
Qualifications, Experience, and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- 3–5+ years of hands-on HR experience, including payroll administration, especially in a multi-location environment
- Experience processing payroll and working with payroll systems such as ADP or Paylocity is required
- Deep knowledge of HRIS (ADP, Paylocity) and employee relations
- Veterinary, healthcare, or multi-location industry experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
