We are looking for a Human Resource Assistant to support employees and managers by delivering timely, accurate guidance on HR processes, policies, and systems in Pennsylvania.
About the role
This is a long-term contract position with a 12-month duration and offers a hybrid schedule requiring onsite work three days per week. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a high volume of inquiries across multiple communication channels while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and strong service standards.
Responsibilities
- Respond to employee and manager questions through phone, chat, and other service channels, providing clear and accurate HR support in a fast-paced environment.
- Process routine HR transactions in Workday and related platforms while ensuring data accuracy and timely completion.
- Document each interaction thoroughly in the case management system, capturing issues, actions taken, and resolution details with professionalism.
- Explain HR policies, procedures, and system-related steps to users, including guidance on tools such as Workday and Kronos.
- Monitor assigned work against service expectations, performance targets, and operational metrics to help maintain consistent support delivery.
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate Tier 2 specialist or service center leadership when additional expertise is needed.
- Protect confidential employee and company information by following privacy standards, internal controls, and applicable legal requirements.
- Identify recurring issues, service trends, and opportunities to improve communication, workflow efficiency, and overall support processes.
- Build productive working relationships with teammates, managers, and stakeholders to support a collaborative HR service environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in customer service, HR support, shared services, or a call center setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen carefully, assess needs, and provide practical solutions.
- Familiarity with HR systems and case management tools, including experience with platforms such as Workday or Kronos, is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet service levels, and work effectively in a metrics-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Comfortable working with diverse employee populations and collaborating across teams in a hybrid work setting.
