Human Resource Assistant
Duration: 12-Month Contract | Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused Human Resources Assistant to support employees and managers by responding to HR-related inquiries and providing guidance on HR processes, policies, and systems. This role operates in a fast-paced service center environment and requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a high volume of calls, chats, and case requests while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries via phone, chat, and other communication channels.
- Process HR transactions in Workday and other HR systems.
- Provide accurate and timely responses using knowledge bases, case management systems, and internal resources.
- Assist employees with HR-related processes, policies, and system navigation, including Workday and timekeeping systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions within the case management system.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate HR specialists when necessary.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
- Protect confidential employee information and comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Identify trends, process improvements, and opportunities to enhance employee support and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bilingual in English and Portuguese.
- 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, customer service, or a call center environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Workday or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Experience using case management platforms or HR portal technologies.
- SHRM, IHRIM, or similar HR certifications.
- Six Sigma certification or process improvement experience.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET. Shift assignments will be determined based on business needs and assigned on the employee's start date. Candidates cannot select their preferred shift.
