Description of Work
This position supports the veterans home by managing employee relations and labor relations activities for multiple unions. It plays a key role in guiding supervisors, improving processes, and helping maintain fair and consistent workplace practices.
As a Human Resource Analyst 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Oversight: Supervise timekeeping staff, as well as support accurate time and leave processes
- Leave Management: Review leave procedures, resolve payroll issues, and train supervisors on leave policies
- Discipline Coordination: Conduct investigations, review incidents, and guide supervisors through disciplinary steps
- Grievance Handling: Research cases, prepare responses, and represent management in discussions with unions
- Labor Meetings: Facilitate meetings with union representatives, prepare packets, and maintain positive working relationships
- Policy Guidance: Interpret contract language and policies and respond to employee inquiries
Work Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Human Resource Analyst 1 or Equal Opportunity Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of analytical experience that includes one year of professional human resource or equal opportunity experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
