Human Neuroimaging Faculty Position in Alzheimer Disease at Rutgers
Overview
The successful candidate must have current active federal funding and a research program using human neuroimaging methods to study Alzheimer disease and related dementias. Candidates for senior faculty position can be considered for a leadership position overseeing the the development of high dementia risk cohort.
About the role
We seek a faculty member who is experienced using neuroimaging techniques to image human brain structure and activity as it relates to aging, Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including neurologists, neuropsychologists, and neuropathologists. The AD center will develop a research cohort of individuals at high risk for dementia. This cohort will be extensively phenotyped for clinical, cognitive, genetic, neuroimaging, behavioral, digital and blood biomarker measures. In addition to scientific leadership, responsibilities will also include mentorship of young investigators.
Responsibilities
- Conduct neuroimaging in large-scale longitudinal studies
- Study the earliest stages of Alzheimer's disease
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including neurologists, neuropsychologists, and neuropathologists
- Develop and lead a program of independent, NIH (or other extramurally) funded research
- Mentor young investigators
- Serve as a core member within the new Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Center at BHI, with a primary appointment in the Department of Neurology at RWJMS
Requirements

The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Center is a new center within BHI at Rutgers University with the mission of establishing an interdisciplinary, integrated program to provide comprehensive research focused on prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
