Assistant, Associate, Full Professor - Alzheimer's Disease
Job Summary
The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neurologist with Alzheimer's disease training, interested in pursuing an academic career. A substantial portion of time will be devoted to research. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health.
- Teach continuing education programs for physicians and the public.
- Research activities include development of an independent, extramurally funded research program.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Attend outpatient Alzheimer's clinics at the UW Hospital and Clinics, the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital or other affiliated locations, one day per week.
Department
The Department of Neurology has over 65 faculty and 25 advanced practice providers located at 20 S. Park/Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and UW Health Clinics. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care. Compensation
Negotiable, Annual (12 months)
Required Qualifications
- Completed a neurology residency program.
- Alzheimer's disease fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
- Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
- Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Tenure track.
Education
MD or DO or equivalent is required by the start date.
