What You’ll Do

  • Composes and processes personnel actions (epar).
  • Prepares and updates position descriptions.
  • Maintains tables of organization.
  • Schedules interviews and participates in preliminary screening and/or interviewing of applicants.
  • Affords assistance with preparing responses to requests for reasonable accommodation.
  • Coordination, tracking processes, approval, and advice regarding performance evaluations.
  • Affords assistance with employee recognition and employee wellness programs.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to institutional policies and procedures for compliance with human resources rules and regulations.
  • Affords assistance to employees in completion of off-work paperwork (e.g., disability, workers’ compensation, child birth leave and military leave) and posts the leave requests through the leave cases in Kronos.
  • Tracks and monitors off-work claims.
  • Processes leave requests and advises employees regarding Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Processes payroll for off-work programs.
  • Affords assistance to employees with identifying, completing and/or faxing forms and applications.
  • Presents Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reports as needed.
  • Affords assistance to personnel director or other administrative staff on special projects, assignments and reports.
  • Responds to routine correspondence from employees.
  • Affords assistance with gathering documentation for audits, grievances, lawsuits and requests for public information.
  • Affords assistance with the maintenance of employee personnel and private files.
  • Ensures files are retained and disposed of in accordance with record retention schedules.
  • Maintains OPERS electronic contributions.
  • Coordinates data for ACA and other audits.
  • Completes employment verification, letters regarding wages for child support and deferred compensation forms.
  • Affords assistance in conducting orientation sessions for new employees.
  • Represents agency/institution at human resources meetings and/or trainings, on behalf of or in addition to supervisor.
  • Attends meetings, training sessions and conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
