About the role
The Student Services Professional III position involves advising and guiding students in individual and group settings. This role oversees an intentional and accountable residential life programming model that includes social, recreational, spiritual, and educational outcomes. The incumbent works closely with the UH student governance council, the Chico State National Residence Hall Honorary Chapter, and the UH residence hall programming board.
Responsibilities
- Advise and guide students in individual and group settings
- Oversee residential life programming, including social, recreational, spiritual, and educational outcomes
- Collaborate with UH staff in developing, implementing, and administering policies, procedures, and operating principles related to residential life programming
- Provide guidance in collaboration with UH staff in the development, implementation, and administration of policy, procedures, and operating principles pertaining to residential life programming, student governance/advising, and the residence hall programming board
- Work directly with and advise the UH student governance council, the Chico State National Residence Hall Honorary Chapter, and the UH residence hall programming board
- Spend substantial portions of time in advisement sessions of considerable duration
Requirements
- Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field plus three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field
- Master’s degree in a job-related field may substitute for one year of the required professional experience
- Experience advising a community or hall council or student group

Pay and Schedule
- Salary range: $66,480 - $94,716 per year
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm
