Coordinator of Advocacy Services (Student Services Professional III)

About the role

The Coordinator of Advocacy Services plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Title IX, VAWA, and Campus Clery Act mandates. This position provides comprehensive advocacy services for individuals experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual assault, or stalking. Services include crisis intervention, academic accommodations, accompaniment to court, hospital, and police departments, and appropriate responses across various campus locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop a campus-based advocacy program
• Collaborate with other campus departments and community resources
• Provide Title IX advocacy and navigation
• Offer criminal justice and legal advocacy
• Support academic accommodations and advocacy
• Facilitate housing accommodations
• Accompany individuals to court, hospital, and police departments
• Respond appropriately at various campus locations

Requirements

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus three years of full-time professional experience
• Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for one year of professional experience
• Experience working with diverse populations and adapting restorative/transformative justice practices
• Multi-lingual/bilingual skills, especially in Spanish or Hmong

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with a student population ranging from 14 to 26 years of age
• Demonstrated experience in adapting restorative/transformative justice practices
• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a job-related field

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
