About the restaurant

Tucked in the corner of a quiet and characterful piazza, the outside seating area of Casa Gringo seems traditionally Maltese. But venture inside and the artwork and background music reveal a little Latin flavour has come to Gozo! There are two menus in operation here: restaurant-style mains, plus a more informal Bodega menu with burrito and taco options perfect for sharing or as lighter meals. Love a taco? Visit for ‘Taco Tuesdays’ when more unusual fillings join the range of fish, meat, and veggie choices.

Food philosophy

Owner and chef Gino laughingly admits he’s never been to Latin America. As his pasta dish Pedro Goes to Italy suggests, his dishes don’t aim to be authentic but are inspired by Latin favourites which he playfully merges with Mediterranean seasonal ingredients. The food is carefully flavoured rather than chilli-hot.
