About the role

The Housing Supportive Services Program (HSSP) is a specialized program providing comprehensive and intensive community mental health services to individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).

Responsibilities

  • Provide, coordinate, and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members.
  • Conduct individual, family and group psychotherapy.
  • Develop effective, trusting relationships with members, focusing on independence and improved health.
  • Collaborate with members to develop and update their individual service plans.
  • Aid in program evaluation and modification for future improvements.
  • Assist members in daily activities, socialization, health maintenance, and recovery.
  • Work cooperatively with the HSSP team, participating in staff meetings, clinical supervision, and trainings.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and updated member files with all required documents.
  • Support crisis interventions, including after-hours assistance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Valid registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Current, valid California Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle.
  • Able to transport members in your personal vehicle.
  • Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills.

Qualifications (DMH)

  • Experience in DMH settings.

Work Environment

A combination of field and office environment. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites. Exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day.
