About the role

The HSE Coordinator is an entry-level, non-exempt safety position. It is a field-based role, focusing on safety oversight and compliance within construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent walk-through inspections of construction areas (upwards of 80% of the job is spent in the field doing audits and interacting with crews).
  • Assist in identifying, documenting, and recommending resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Assist in identifying corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
  • Participate in job pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.
  • Assist with investigating personal injury and property damage accidents.
  • Assist with compiling data, photographs, etc.; prepare appropriate forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local accident regulations.
  • Assist in incident response as required.
  • May assist with trainings, orientations, or other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites.
  • Travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to acquire an understanding of basic job-site safety work practices and regulations.
  • Time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees within the regional business unit, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

Working Conditions

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
  • Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
