HS Teacher, Language Arts, (.5 FTE), Perm

About the role

The North Clackamas School District seeks a part-time, permanent English Language Arts teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate should hold an English Language Arts endorsement and possess or be able to obtain Oregon educator licensure.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts following district-approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
• Ensure student safety and provide appropriate guidance, discipline, and welfare.
• Collaborate with colleagues and manage classroom environments to support student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a teacher certification program.
• Possession or ability to obtain Oregon licensure with an English Language Arts endorsement.
• Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
• Continuous professional learning and commitment to professional growth.
• Demonstrated content knowledge for English Language Arts.
• Effective communication skills with parents, students, and staff.
• Ability to collaborate and team within a professional learning community.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply it to teaching.
• Use of appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques.
• Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning.
• Utilization of technology to aid in instruction, assessment, and learning.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university.
• Possess or be able to obtain Oregon licensure with a Subject Matter Endorsement (e.g., English Language Arts).
• Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.

Pay

Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience. Salary is prorated based on FTE and start date. Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.
