HRIS System Administrator
About the role
The HRIS System Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end administration, configuration support, and optimization of HR systems, including Dayforce and iCIMS ATS, ensuring high-quality data, efficient processes, and reliable system performance.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain HRIS with a strong focus on data integrity, system performance, and process reliability
- Perform advanced configuration updates (within governance frameworks), ensuring alignment with business requirements
- Proactively monitor system activity, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues with minimal escalation
- Evaluate system workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and user experience
- Develop and deliver complex and ad hoc reports to support HR, Payroll, and leadership decision-making
- Analyze data trends, identify inconsistencies, and provide actionable insights to improve workforce processes
- Perform data validation, audits, and reconciliations, ensuring consistency across systems
- Partner with HR stakeholders to translate reporting needs into meaningful system outputs
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Support workflow design enhancements by applying strong understanding of HR processes and system capabilities
- Document processes, system logic, and data flows to improve consistency and scalability
- Contribute to HRIS projects, taking ownership of assigned workstreams or deliverables
- Support testing strategy, execute user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate system functionality
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of system enhancements and updates
- Cross-Functional Partnership & Support
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and IT to solve system-related challenges and improve processes
- As a go-to resource for HR system questions, offer guidance on workflows, reporting, and data interpretation
- Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution of system concerns
Requirements
- Working knowledge of HR systems including Dayforce and iCIMS strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of HR, Payroll, Recruiting and Benefits processes
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Intermediate reporting and data analysis skills
- Operates in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment supporting a 24/7 workforce
- Must be able to manage urgent system needs, payroll timelines, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of HRIS or HR operations experience
