Job Summary
MDU Resources Group, Inc., a member of the S&P SmallCap 600 index, is based in Bismarck, ND, and operates across the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. We are seeking a Human Resources professional with exceptional communication and HRIS/HCM skills to support the Human Capital Management system, including report development, system management, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Human Capital Management system including report development, system management, and data analysis.
- Other duties may include benefit administration, recruiting, organizational development, and employee relations.
- Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.
Qualifications
- Human Resource Generalist: Must possess working knowledge of business and human resource practices, a four-year degree in business administration or human resources management or related field, and two years human resource experience.
- Human Resource Generalist, Sr: Must possess a four-year degree or equivalent experience, and at least four years of progressively responsible human resource experience.
Requirements
- Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Senior level position requires a human resources certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year of attaining the position.
Priorities
- Partners with HR management to research, develop and communicate various human resource related projects policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Keeps abreast with employment and other HR related laws and Company policy.
- Aids managers with policy interpretation and provides guidance for compliance.
- Represents the company on assigned corporate strategy teams and/or business unit teams, providing input for decisions and communicating decisions to management.
- Supports department management in investigating and resolving employee and labor relations issues in compliance with HR policies and applicable employment laws.
- Utilizes the HRIS system to gather data and complete analysis for management or other departments.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
