About the role
This position provides administrative support and performs a variety of technical Human Resources functions, including recordkeeping, auditing, reporting, processing paperwork, maintaining accurate personnel files, distributing Human Resources communications, and other activities as directed by management.
Responsibilities
- Process, record, and audit personnel data such as compensation, benefits, attendance, performance evaluations, background checks, and termination information.
- Ensure all required forms are accurately completed and authorizing approvals have been obtained.
- Maintain accurate personnel files following strict guidelines for filing structure, document retention, and confidentiality.
- Provide information to management upon appropriate authorization for performance reviews, promotions, or disciplinary actions.
- Assist with the administration of performance reviews by preparing, compiling, and distributing employee data to managers, updating records, and auditing for accuracy.
- Perform routine and non-routine audits to ensure data accuracy, completing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance tasks.
- Communicate audit results to management, ensure corrections are made, and update procedures and checklists.
- Carry out HR programs in accordance with company procedures, including state and federal poster compliance, memo issuance, employment verifications, and managing company bulletin boards.
- Stay current on regulatory or guideline changes.
- Support various HR departments with special projects as needed.
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficient in data entry and filing.
- Ability to research subject matter, write procedures, and follow directions.
- General computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with a Human Resource database system is preferred.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organized, task-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees in verbal and written formats.
- Adherence to strict confidentiality guidelines.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
- Experience in Human Resources or administrative office is preferred.
