The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Coordinator will maintain and support the overall administration of the Human Resources Information System applications and modules. This position serves as the main point of contact for information system, supporting HR planning and operations, identifying and leveraging technology solutions to meet the needs of the Human Resources Department and end users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, information technology or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of HR functional operations and experience working with HR Information Systems required, preferably within a public school setting (Infinite Visions preferred).
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills in data compiling and processing and data base management methods and practices.
- Knowledge and experience with state and federal regulations and reporting requirements desired.
- Knowledge and experience with Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) regulations and reporting requirements desired.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and the public.
- Ability to analyze facts and present recommendations effectively in oral and written form
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
- Ability to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner

Responsibilities
- Evaluates HR systems to identify points of improvement.
- Develop solutions within the HRIS to streamline HR processes.
- Performs extensive and complex processing of employee records related to all employment processes while complying with all District, State and Federal regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Maintains current knowledge of HR operations and activities, collective bargaining agreements, employment-related laws and regulations and District personnel and payroll policies.
- Applies HR functional knowledge in optimizing HR information systems support.
- Generates a variety of regular and ad hoc reports, queries and documents related to HR operations, including but not limited to staffing reports by building, Notification of Assignment, seniority lists, Connect 5 list, ethnicity and demographics reports, etc.
- Produces accurate and timely mandated reports for government entities and outside agencies, including but not limited to: Illinois State Board of Education Employee Information System, Staff Salary Studies, Teacher Salary Study, Reduction in Force Survey, Unfilled Positions Survey Bi-annual Civil Rights Report, Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and supplementary reports, Large Unit District Association (LUDA) report, Medicaid Reports, Monthly Department of Labor Current Employee Statistic report and Quarterly Bureau of Labor Statistics Report, Economic Interest Report, P.A. 101-0620 Monthly Union Report.
- Aids in the development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
- Maintains data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
- Provides data and information to administration for use in collective bargaining.
- Maintains confidential queries, records and databases as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information processed.
- Maintains part-time TRS calendars.
- Maintains work hours for all temporary employees and substitutes.
- Conducts information audits according with established schedule.
- Applies knowledge of HR information systems and data in extracting and analyzing current, historical, and forecasted data to support strategic HR planning.
- Works with Payroll, Benefits, and Finance Department to ensure that all aspects of the integrated database are working together correctly and efficiently.
- Establishes time lines and priorities for data processing projects, assures mandated reports are completed and distributed to appropriate governmental agencies or personnel according to established timeline and procedures.
