HRD Part Time Instructor

Summary

Sandhills Community College is seeking part-time instructors to focus on workforce development. Instruction will cover various employment skills such as resume writing, interviewing skills, career alignment, and more.

Essential Functions

• Duties and responsibilities include developing curriculum, selecting textbooks and materials, completing student evaluations and grading, and maintaining program standards.
• Provide instruction to adult learners either online or in a face-to-face classroom setting.
• The successful candidate should be proficient in oral and written communication, have working knowledge of MS Office products, and have teaching experience preferred.
• This job requires flexible hours: availability for days and nights as needed.
• Potential locations include Pinehurst campus, Hoke campus, Robbins campus, and community locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, Bachelors preferred.
• REQUIRED PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE ABILITIES:
• Maintain physical conditions appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include standing or sitting for extended periods, walking up to one mile, some moderate lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds), operating assigned equipment, and working at a computer for long periods of time.
• Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, handling varied tasks simultaneously.
• Maintain mental capacity which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, demonstrating intellectual capabilities, ability to think critically and solve problems.
• Effectively handle a work environment and conditions involving working closely with others, periodically working irregular hours.

Working Conditions

• The job requires significant and sharp mental abilities and skills, excellent verbal and written skills, excellent vision, and a Class C driver’s license.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required.
