Job Summary

The HR Trainer is responsible for conducting training, recruiting, compliance, and staff development. This role involves extensive customer service, attention to detail, and interaction with program participants while adhering to the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and upholding the agency’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training to ensure employees are properly prepared to support client needs by facilitating assigned courses.
• Obtain and maintain certification/approvals necessary to facilitate classes on behalf of the agency.
• Create and distribute class schedules, training memos, and other relevant documentation.
• Track and issue completion certificates; compile and enter training records into the HRIS.
• Monitor compliance requirements, run reports, analyze data, and contact employees to schedule training.
• Compile, produce, and maintain training materials.
• Conduct bi‑weekly three‑day New Hire Orientation and oversee communication with new hires.
• Process all related new‑hire paperwork and create employee files.
• Follow up to ensure all requirements are completed.
• Complete individual training requirements annually and maintain required certifications and licensures.
• Attend mandatory training such as First Aid/CPR, blood‑borne pathogens, and mandated reporter training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation.
• Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures such as word processing, file and record management, stenography, transcription, form design, and related office terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software.

Job Requirements

• Associate’s degree and one year of experience performing general administrative or human resources functions, or at least two years of experience in general business or human resources functions plus one year of training experience.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and eligibility for coverage under Alpha’s automobile insurance plan based on driving record.
• Successful background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency.

Pay

All HR Trainers will start at $26.00 per hour. The wage scale ranges from $26.00 to $31.60 per hour.
