About the role
The Talent Partner Supervisor oversees and performs a variety of functions in support of District-wide staffing processes. Key responsibilities include overseeing the HR Talent Partner team, managing workload distribution, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and serving as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR Talent Partner team.
- Perform the standard work of the HR Talent Partner for assigned schools and departments.
- Manage, distribute, and balance workloads among the HR Talent Partner team.
- Monitor compliance with approved policies and procedures, including those set forth in the Employee Handbook and other applicable District guidance.
- Plan, develop, and implement training and development plans for direct reports to ensure continued development of skills, knowledge, and understanding of District staffing practices and related work.
- Coverage for HR Talent Partner operations as needed, including performing the standard work of an HR Talent Partner in a backup capacity.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and address performance and conduct issues, while supporting the resolution of Talent Partner team member concerns and work-related challenges.
- Serve on interview and selection panels for the HR department and the District, as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or commensurate experience and formal training.
- Minimum five years of HR experience.
- Minimum three years of experience as an HR Talent Partner, HR Business Partner, HR Staffing Analyst, or equivalent role.
- Demonstrated success providing formal or informal training, guidance, and leadership.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the HR Talent Partner function and related District processes.
- Knowledge of the MMSD Employee Handbook as it relates to functions within the purview of the HR Talent Partner function.
- Skilled in identifying opportunities for and providing training and development.
- Skilled at identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
- Skilled at utilizing applicant tracking systems, HR information systems, and office productivity software.
- Skilled at monitoring, distributing, and delegating work.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and adhere to deadlines while simultaneously supervising a team.
- Able to build consultative relationships with school principals and district leaders.
- Proficient in Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
