Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now to process payroll and maintain employee records
- Review and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee payroll concerns, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and overtime calculations
- Track and maintain progression increases for union employees
- Support onboarding, new hire setup, employee data changes, and terminations
- Cook up with IT for new hire system access and user setup
- Aid with recruiting support, including interview scheduling and pre-employment verification
- Manage employee records and maintain compliance with internal policies and employment regulations
- Support workers’ compensation claims and serve as a resource for claims-related questions
- Aid with benefits administration, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life event changes, payroll deductions, COBRA notifications, and open enrollment support
- Reconcile monthly invoices for ADP, health, dental, vision, voluntary benefits, and union dues
- Generate and maintain reports, including month-end reports, union headcount, census data, and ad hoc reporting requests
- Aid with PTO tracking and support future process improvements and system implementation
- Provide administrative support to the HR team and broader business operations
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of payroll experience required
- Experience with ADP payroll systems required, Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Experience processing payroll in a union environment preferred
- Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Associate degree preferred, but not required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with a diverse employee population
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Ability to confidently communicate with employees and leadership
