About the role

The HR/Payroll Administrator Sr. position at PeaceHealth is a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position in Vancouver, WA. This role guides and organizes the confidential, accurate, and timely services of the payroll department, assisting the Payroll Manager in leading all phases of the payroll process, managing special projects, and directing the day-to-day functions for the payroll team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and assigns daily work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, directs day-to-day operations for the payroll team, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, leads team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
  • Manages and coordinates the company’s payroll system, both internally, and externally with third party payroll and benefits providers.
  • Oversees workers' compensation payments and compliance measures.
  • Stays up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensures company policies reflect current laws.
  • Administers retirement plan distributions within payroll.
  • Ensures compliance with all payroll regulations and manages quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Prepares union payroll reporting.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance to Payroll team members and other key stakeholders on payroll processes and procedures and proactively recommends and implements improvements.
  • Participates in the maintenance of individual payroll records, payroll distribution, and preparation of payroll reports, and statements as well as compilation of periodic and special reports on payroll matters including year-end W-2 processing.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations for payroll and tax filings.
  • Leads BSI patches and testing.
  • Coordinates system testing required for upgrades.
  • Leads projects and assists Payroll Manager in assigning payroll staff resources.
  • Provides statistical data for quality improvement measures; develops and maintains reports for organizational and departmental performance improvement procedures.
  • Assists with audits and reporting related to payroll and benefits.
  • Conducts internal and departmental audits to ensure consistency and operational efficiencies are met according to organizational values.
  • Effectively communicates by interpreting and conveying information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner; establishing and maintaining open, effective communications; utilizing correct channels of communication and recognized organization communication standard.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree Preferred: Accounting or Business a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
  • 5 years of payroll or closely related experience in a lead role.
  • Infor experience. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality; work independently, efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands and short time frames.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Ability to lead team on day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive payroll and HR information.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong technical and professional skills.
  • Prior large project/system implementation experience. (Preferred)

Benefits

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $72,259 – $108,410.
