About the role
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, loves consulting work, and can move seamlessly between clients, industries, and priorities. You’re equally comfortable getting into the weeds to solve a tactical HR challenge and zooming out to design a 360° people strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with founders, CEOs, and senior leaders at 20-50 employee companies to design and deliver thoughtful HR strategies that unlock growth, improve engagement, and strengthen culture.
- Bring industry experience in tech or professional services.
- Experience with small businesses and the unique challenges founders face.
- Build trust quickly and deliver thoughtful, actionable guidance.
- Manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities without losing quality or connection.
- Flex between strategic advisory and hands-on implementation, depending on what a client needs most.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Consultant, or Senior HR Generalist, supporting both U.S. and Canadian employees.
- Bring industry experience in tech or professional services.
- Experience with small businesses and the unique challenges founders face.
- A strong consultative approach - you build trust quickly and deliver thoughtful, actionable guidance.
- Proven experience working in both in-house and consulting environments.
- Broad expertise in HR operations, employee relations, performance, engagement, and change management.
- A proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities without losing quality or connection.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to advise senior leaders with clarity and care.
- A high degree of organization, follow-through, and accountability.
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for continuous learning and people-centered leadership.
- Bonus points if you have experience facilitating leadership development or learning programs.
- Bonus if you hold a SHRM designation (or are working toward it), or have a degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Bonus if you’ve supported a U.S.-based public company or have exposure to HR practices in regulated or publicly traded settings (e.g., compliance, reporting, or executive programs).
