HR OPERATIONS PROJECT MANAGEMENT 1
About the Role
The Project Manager – Leave Administration & Analytics serves as the operational lead for the Leave of Absence function while also driving strategic HR initiatives, reporting, and process improvement. This role coordinates daily workflow across all leave programs, ensures compliance and quality standards, supports team training, and manages cross‑functional projects that enhance efficiency, employee experience, and organizational outcomes. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented, process‑focused professional who can balance day‑to‑day operations with strategic project work and data‑driven problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workflow, case assignment, and prioritization across all leave types (personal medical, military, and family medical - including continuous and intermittent - for either or both company and FMLA)
- Serve as first line escalation support for Leave Administrators and HR partners
- Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and consistency in case handling
- Manage shared inbox and work queue processes to ensure timely employee communication and intake coordination
- Support return to work processes, ADA coordination points, and complex leave situations
- Provide coaching, procedural guidance, and ongoing training reinforcement for leave administration staff
- Monitor backlog levels and initiate stabilization plans during high volume periods
- Assist with audit preparation, documentation validation, and policy adherence
- Lead HR and Leave Administration improvement projects focused on compliance, workflow optimization, and employee experience
- Assist in building and maintaining reporting dashboards, workforce analytics, and operational metrics for HR leadership
- Develop SOP updates, workflow redesign proposals, and modernization recommendations
- Track and enhance Employee Relations outcomes related to leave administration communication and service delivery
- Prepare materials for leadership councils, HR meetings, and operational reviews
- Execute ad hoc projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to evolving business priorities
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 4 years of experience or Bachelor's degree or above and 0 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in business administration, leave administration, HR operations, or workforce management
- Formal project management, process improvement, or analytics certification (PMP, CAPM, Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt, or similar)
- Professional HR certification
- Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, and related compliance requirements
- Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated project management or process improvement experience
- Experience with project management methodologies and software
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Continuous improvement mindset and openness to feedback
