Position Overview:This is a temporary-to-hire role, fully onsite in Marina del Rey. Hybrid and remote candidates will not be considered. The HR Manager supports day-to-day human resources operations while partnering closely with finance and leadership to ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and best-in-class employee practices. This role blends core HR responsibilities with accounting exposure, including payroll coordination, reconciliations, and workforce reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, people-focused, and comfortable operating at the intersection of HR, compliance, and finance. Key Responsibilities:Human Resources OperationsSupport and administer core HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and policy implementationEnsure HR policies and procedures align with current employment laws, regulations, and HR best practicesServe as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and payrollAssist in performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and talent development programsPartner with leadership to support workforce planning and organizational needsPayroll, Accounting & ReconciliationsCollaborate with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and reportingPerform payroll and benefits reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepanciesAssist with monthly and quarterly HR-related accounting entries, accruals, and reportingMaintain accurate employee records impacting payroll, benefits, and financial reportingSupport audits by providing HR and payroll documentation as neededCompliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including the FLSA, California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), ADA, and FMLAMaintain HRIS data integrity and support reporting for headcount, turnover, compensation, and benefitsAssist in the preparation of HR metrics and financial summaries for leadership QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience3-6 years of progressive experience in HR, with exposure to payroll, accounting, or finance functionsStrong understanding of HR best practices, California employment law, and compliance requirementsHands-on experience with payroll processing, reconciliations, and HRIS systemsHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a multi-state or fast-paced environmentKnowledge of GAAP concepts as they relate to payroll and benefitsHR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) or accounting coursework a plusExperience supporting audits or working closely with finance teams Equal Opportunity: Manta Search is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local law.
