HR Manager I
About the role
The HR Manager I position is based at the Counterbalance Development Center (CBDC) in Portland, Oregon. This role leads HR for an onsite product development organization of approximately 300 employees and serves as a strategic partner to site leadership.
Responsibilities
Partner with site and business leaders to align on business objectives each day to provide HR guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, performance, and organizational needs.
Demonstrate agility by adapting HR approaches to evolving business conditions, priorities, and workforce needs.
Lead core talent activities, including recruiting support, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and onboarding for new hires.
Coach managers through employee issues, team challenges, and development opportunities while helping create a positive, high-performing work environment.
Oversee day-to-day HR operations such as benefits support, policy interpretation, and compliance with employment laws and company practices.
Support organizational changes and site initiatives by helping leaders communicate effectively, manage transitions, and reinforce company culture.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or HR certification is preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including substantial experience in HR Business Partner roles.

Skills
Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or other technical teams is helpful in this role.
Strong HR experience in areas such as leadership coaching, talent development, employee relations, compliance, and benefits.
Experience working in a matrixed or global organization is a plus.
