Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Human Resources resource for clients and leadership, often working as an embedded part of the client's organization, becoming the part-time HR department for several clients in various industries
- Work as part of a service delivery team that includes recruiting and HR administrative support, providing HR services and serving as a resource to client management on all employment matters
- Address routine and complex employee relations and performance issues with flexibility and practicality, focusing on reducing client risk and exposure related to employment practices
- Guide clients on non-standard matters, including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, reorganization, policy creation, and leadership mentoring
- Perform routine HR management duties, such as benefits oversight, handbook development and updates, and job description creation
- Enhance and update policies and procedures in accordance with labor laws, best practices, and cultural inclusion, while proactively identifying instances of noncompliance
- Design and coordinate new employee onboarding and exit meetings, mitigating employment issues, lay-offs/terminations, equity audits, and compliance
- Offer advice to clients on all HR-related functions
- Participate in HR assessments of new clients and work with the team to launch new clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; higher-level degree preferred
- Experience in biotech, startups, for-profit organizations, and shares/options preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience with increasing levels of autonomy and proactive engagement
- Experience working in small to mid-sized companies, from startups to 150 employees
- Demonstrated effectiveness in engaging with clients in a highly professional and service-oriented manner; serves as an effective ambassador of Insource HR at client sites
- Demonstrated professional judgment skills and a positive, inclusive, interactive style
- Experience explaining and presenting HR information and practices to current and prospective clients clearly and with gravitas
- Conversant in Federal and Massachusetts employment regulations; proactive in problem-solving and accessing additional resources as necessary
