Essential Functions

  • Partner with managers and employees across assigned client groups to provide HR guidance, coaching, and solutions that support employee engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee and manager inquiries, resolving issues and conducting employee relations investigations in a fair, objective, and timely manner.
  • Support managers throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee development, conflict resolution, organizational changes, and offboarding.
  • Care for coordination and administration of HR processes and programs, including employee documentation, unemployment claims, exit interviews, workers compensation, ADA and other HR operational activities.
  • Support benefit administration, performance, compensation, and talent management processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding, training, and other learning and development initiatives that enhance employee effectiveness and engagement.
  • Maintain employee records and sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices while partnering with leadership and legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Participate in and lead HR projects, process improvement initiatives, workforce analytics, and other activities that enhance employee experience and support business objectives.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field of study AND Two (2) years human resources generalist experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certificates and Licenses: None required.

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks/projects; ability to influence and negotiate
  • Ability to take initiative, be innovative and work effectively in a variety of settings
  • Knowledge of current State and Federal Wage, Employment Laws and HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality, to manage the administrative processes of an HR department, and to identify problems requiring escalation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive and confidential matters effectively to all levels
  • Must be able to work some evenings/weekends required if business needs dictate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; Basic proficiency with UltiPro or other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); Web proficiency
  • Able to pass required background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior PHR (SPHR), Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification
  • Experience in education or curriculum development organizations
  • Preferred candidate to be within commuting distance to Maumee, OH
