About the role

The HR Business Partner acts as a strategic liaison between HR, area leadership, and area management. Serves as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and assistance within the employee relations function, including performance management, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action. Provides support in talent acquisition and retention strategies. Works with managers and employees to ensure compliance with bank policy and applicable laws. Provides recommendations and guidance to area management in establishing human resource objectives and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with area leadership to understand regional needs and develop strategic HR plans to support those priorities.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all HR-related needs within the assigned area.
  • Coordinates with other HR lines of business to ensure timely assistance.
  • Collaborates with managers to develop a positive, professional, and high-performing team.
  • Provides guidance to managers regarding talent acquisition, monitors progress, and assists as needed.
  • Assists managers with all performance management needs, including the creation and administration of corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Assists managers and employees in resolving workplace issues.
  • Conducts internal investigations as assigned.
  • Coordinates with the HR Training Manager to provide training to managers as needed.
  • Provides advice and interpretation regarding human resource policies as they relate to individuals and Bank objectives.
  • Ensures all human resource activities are conducted in compliance with bank policy and applicable laws/regulations.
  • Manages unemployment claims and hearings within the designated area.
  • Ensures HR management is appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns.
  • Assists in developing and implementing human resource operations plans, policies, procedures, and goals; recommends improvements as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, Human Resources Certification; or equivalent management and associate relations experience and/or related education.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions, including payroll, compensation, benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and investigations.

Physical and Mental Activities

  • Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Average Visual Abilities: Ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
  • Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
  • Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, and instruction manuals. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation, and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. 40 hours per week.
