HR Business Partner
About the role
ABB is searching for an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team in Mebane, NC's manufacturing facility. In this role, you will develop and implement people strategy through the execution of HR processes. Each day, you will provide HR support for a defined team or location by partnering with respective managers. You will represent HR in the business and establish strong relationships with all business leaders and employees, with a strong focus on manufacturing supervisory positions to assist with coaching, developing, and retaining talent. This is an onsite position in our Mebane, NC manufacturing facility.
This position reports to the Senior HR Business Partner.

- Strategy: Understand and contribute to the overall Business and People Strategy. Determine and deliver the best approach in your area of responsibility. Execute HR priorities while adding value to the business.
- People Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and guidance to ensure your area is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. Coach, motivate, and develop talent to build an effective, capable, and high-performing team.
- Functional Excellence: Act as a partner and coach for Managers and Supervisors. Support the business and execute HR processes, including:

- Change Management: Facilitate and ensure the success of change management initiatives. Drive behavioral change and continuous improvement.
- Employee and Manager Relations: Represent HR in the workplace through employee engagement and building partnerships between employees, HR, and management. Serve as an employee advocate and conduct investigations of allegations as needed, adhering to ABB policies. Build credible and trusting relationships with the production employee population to facilitate effective communications and relations. Provide coaching to managers and employees to translate leadership paired values into action, demonstrating business-led collaboration, people management, and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline plus 8 or more years of HR experience, or a special combination of education and experience demonstrating performance and results.
- 5+ years of HR experience in a large manufacturing environment.
- Solid HR expertise, including employee relations, organizational development, staffing, compensation, and performance management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of U.S. employment law and compliance.
- This is a 100% onsite position; onsite experience is required.
- Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP and Workday system experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Ability to interact with managers, supervisors, and employees at all levels in the organization.
- Experience in a non-union shop and in conducting employee investigations.
- Experience delivering HR solutions through a combination of onsite HR teams and a Centralized Services Team.
