Essential Functions
- Provides clerical and administrative support to the HR Department.
- Handles employee requests regarding Human resource issues, rules, and regulations.
- Completes background checks, tracking and communications for new hires.
- Affords assistance with new hire orientation.
- Captures and coordinates exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
- Tracks, manages new hires, education, expirables, and other tasks assigned.
- Assists with the processing of payroll on a regular basis and ensures accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Establishes and uploads documents to maintain employee electronic personnel files in HRIS.
- Assists with the administration of the workers compensation program.
- Assists with annual employee benefits open enrollment process.
- Assists Residents/Families/POAs with the completion of Medicaid assistance applications and verifies eligibility.
- Affords assistance with maintaining and updating filing systems for the Business Office Manager.
- Reviews and processes invoices in the Accounts Payable program as needed.
- Scans, uploads, and emails documents to the Beacon AR team.
- Provides reception back-up as needed (relieves lunch, away from desk, etc.).
- Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect, and promotes a caring environment.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Answers and responds to call lights promptly and courteously when working in resident care areas.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Work Environment
- This job operates in a health care setting.
- This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility.
- This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- This role may also come into contact with residents who may have contagious illnesses.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
- This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Evening and weekend work as well as holidays and work during inclement weather will be required.
Travel
- No travel is expected for this position.
