About the role
Responsible for assisting in the daily administrative flow of the HR department, supporting both internal and external requests. The Human Resources Assistant must display conflict management and critical thinking skills and assist with employee relations, recruitment, payroll and benefits, and other HR-related tasks. Must be able to think conceptually and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support daily administrative operations of the HR department
- Handle internal and external HR-related requests
- Assist with employee relations, recruitment, payroll, and benefits
- Apply conflict management and critical thinking in HR tasks
- Exhibit behaviors consistent with organizational values (efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, trust & respect)
- Uphold principles for service excellence
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience as an Administrative or HR Assistant
- SHRM Certification within 2 years of start date
- Excellent communication skills (oral comprehension, oral expression, written comprehension, and written expression)
- Computer/PC proficiency
- Outstanding public relations and customer service experience
- High level of personal presentation
- Ability to maintain accuracy despite interruptions
- Sound judgment and ability to cope with potentially stressful situations
