Job Summary
The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department, ensuring smooth daily operations across various HR functions such as employee onboarding, records management, data entry, and employee inquiries. This role serves as a key point of contact for staff and supports HR team members in delivering timely and efficient service to employees across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with employee onboarding, including preparing offer letters, scheduling orientations, and completing new hire paperwork
- Maintains employee files and HRIS records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Responds to routine employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and procedures or redirects as needed
- Serves as a support for the coordination of meetings, trainings, and HR events
- Prepares reports, letters, and documentation as requested by HR leadership
- Affords support for tracking and processing performance reviews and required documentation
- Affords support for benefits enrollment, open enrollment coordination, and distribution of materials
- Enters data into HR systems, ensuring timely and accurate updates for personnel changes
- Filings and organizes physical and electronic documents in compliance with recordkeeping standards
- Affords support for scheduling interviews, candidate correspondence, and recruitment-related administrative tasks
- Provides general clerical support including scanning, photocopying, and filing
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (AA/AS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and (2) or more years of relevant experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience to include: Minimum of (2) years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a human resources or office support setting
- Experience using HRIS or data management systems preferred
- Familiarity with nonprofit or healthcare environments is a plus
- Bilingual skills may be preferred based on service population

Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit.
- The employee is required to use hands to produce records and/or documentation in manual or electronic format.
- The employee must possess ability to ensure significant communication with the Clinics’ community members.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds.
Compensation
The initial compensation for this position ranges from $23.43 - $27.16; depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.
